What was the Qin dynasty?

The Qin dynasty was an era of history in china. It took place around the same time as the Roman empire (250-50 B.C). This era emerged from the warring states period. During the warring states period there was chaos thus the system of beliefs and laws known as legalism was born. Emperor Qin united china through Legalism and formed an organized sovereign. Qin then helped slow down and prevent the incursion of the mongols by building the great wall of china. During his short (49 yrs.) lifetime Qin created an organized coinage system and helped make trade easier. He also ordered a tomb to be created with organized clay statues. This Terra-cotta army became his resting place and is credited for much of our modern knowledge of his era.
